Endo promised MILLIONS by the Australian Federal Government!

🥑 !!! What an INCREDIBLE day!!!!. For 8 hours we (EndoActive and our newly formed peak body, the Australian Coalition for Endometriosis (ACE) ) have worked with 30 of Australia’s best experts in Endometriosis to craft the National Action Plan for Endo.
Minister Greg Hunt was there and gave another brilliant speech. He asked me not to repeat this bit but when he spoke to his wife about bringing attention to endo, she said, “ABOUT BLOODY TIME!”

When I asked Greg how much money he’d be allocating to Endo, he said, “Syl, in the millions”. MILLIONS!!

We made very real progress. The day was split into 3 major focus areas;
✅Awareness & Education
✅Clinical management and care
✅Research
Within each segment we split into groups made up of department of health staffers, Endo patients, clinicians, pollies, researchers and advocates.

It was an incredible feeling to be in a room with 30 of the ‘best of the best’ all contributing ideas to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and have them listen to us but best of all – to all agree on what needs to be done in Australia to ease the suffering for women and girls with Endo and get shit done!!!!

The end result was:
✅After the 1st draft of the National Action Plan there will be public consultation
✅By 1st July there will be delivery of the National Action Plan
This is the highest level of achievement we’ve had to date and has the potential to change so much about how Endo is treated in Australia. Can’t even explain the happiness. Also can’t move from exhaustion
